acura
lady_eli_2 asked:

I heard that the transmissions on an 01 acura mdx are permanently attached to the engine, so if the tranmsissions would need to replaced, i would have to remove both the engine and the motor to relace the transmision. Is that true, or is there another way to remove the transmission without removing the engine also with it?

THEY SHOULD BE JUST LIKE ANY FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE AND THEY WILL COME APART.

They are not permently attached but by bolts yes they are. Depending on the type of repair needed, you might have to pull the whole motor out to work on the tranny. But that is nothing different, all cars are like that.

the engine and transmission will come apart for sure. depending on the way the engine and transmissions are installed in the vehicle, it is possible that there is not enough room to drop the tranny without having to take a lot of other stuff apart. it could just be cheaper to pull the motor rather than take apart the suspension and exhaust pieces to get access to the transmission
