An efficient engine enables an Acura to perform at its best and rise up to expectations. A typical Acura oxygen sensor monitors the amount of oxygen in a vehicle’s exhaust gas. It generates an electronic signal proportional to the amount of oxygen it detects. This signal is sent to the vehicle’s electronic control module or ECM, which adjusts the fuel/air mixture when oxygen in the engine is running too rich or too lean. The result is an engine running at peak efficiency and an exhaust emission reduced to an acceptable level.

A faulty Acura oxygen sensor is characterized by low response, or inaccurate measurement of oxygen in the exhaust. Under these conditions, engine combustion is no longer efficient and rich or lean oxygen conditions may occur for prolonged periods of time, causing poor driveability, decreased fuel economy, hesitation on acceleration, stalling, surging, rough idle, and increased tailpipe emissions. There are different factors that may cause an Acura oxygen sensor’s failure. Silicone, condensed water, and some oil additives may contaminate the sensor. In addition, sensors succumb to extreme temperatures, oil fouling, carbon deposits, and the corrosive effects of harmful chemicals. Even the best oxygen sensor, operating for the cleanest engine, wears out eventually.

There is one simple solution to oxygen sensor problems. It is highly recommended that the Acura oxygen sensor be replaced at intervals prescribed by the sensor or car manufacturer. This maintenance precaution ensures a consistently efficient Acura oxygen sensor, which translates to better engine performance and cleaner emission for extended periods of time.

This luxury car of Honda started producing cars in 1986 and has already produced millions of vehicles distributed around the world. It is also known in the manufacturing of Honda and Acura parts that are widely sought after as replacement parts. Luckily, Acura was considered as the first to have successfully sold luxury Japanese car.

In the infancy of Acura, only two models were introduced?the Legend and the Integra. The Acura Legend was design similarly with the Honda Accord. With this, utilization of certain auto parts was made possible. Later, as the market grew, Acura started to manufacture parts to accommodate the increasing claims of clients. During the establishment of the Acura and the further development of the division, it managed to compete with the Infiniti of Nissan and Lexus of Toyota.

Acura for this year marketed 5 models, two of which are the successors of the ceased Legend and Integra. The most expensive from among its models is the Acura RL which is priced at $46,500, followed by Acura MDX, TL, RDX and TSX respectively. Acura RL was the direct remake of the Acura Legend. Though it no longer carries the original Acura Legend design, Acura RL still managed to be associated with its predecessor as well as it still has the original Acura parts. Integra’s successors on the other hand were the RSX and the TSX which ceased production in 2006.

By the end of this year, Acura is set to be introduced in Russia. Following this, a company headquarter will be put up on the said country. Acura parts assembly line will also be established to answer the needs of Acura owners. By that time, future vehicles of Acura like the 2009 RL and TSX are as well will be first sold in Russia. Concept cars that were unveiled by Acura this year are still on the process of whether it should be produced or not.

Other than the aforementioned functions, the Acura control arm enables the coil springs to respond to the axle and wheel assembly while encountering the bumps and bruises along the way. The pivots at the other end of the control arm, which are attached to the chassis, allow for the up-and-down motion of the coil springs to absorb the shocks during bumps

Aside from its pivot-joint functionality, the Acura control arm likewise allows the suspension of the car to respond to the axle and wheel assembly during bumps. The pivots at either end of the Acura control arm facilitate an upward and downward motion of the coil springs so bumps are less felt in the car’s cabin. By allowing a steady, regulated movement of the suspension parts, the Acura control arm synchronizes all four tires to the motion of the car. It is equipped with cylindrical bushings to reduce friction and improve car handling. The considerably less-traction contact surface where the rubber meets the road results in better steering and tire wear-out rate.

The American magazine Consumer Reports recently announced its recommendation for luxury SUVs. The publication picks the Lexus RX350 and the Acura MDX as the top two luxury SUVs available in the market today. According to Consumer Reports, the new and more powerful engine of the Lexus RX350 makes it a great choice for luxury SUV buyers while the MDX is a well-rounded vehicle which can meet the demand of consumers.

Overall, the Lexus RX350 and the Acura MDX finished third and fourth respectively in the SUV ratings behind the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and the Lexus RX400h. The RX400h is the hybrid version of the RX350. According to Consumer Reports, the Lexus RX350 and the Acura MDX are virtually tied after the tests performed on them.

The new engine of the RX350 is a 3.5-liter V6 engine which is capable of producing 270 units of horsepower. According to the reviews received by the RX350, its handling is not as good as the Acura but its fuel efficiency is the best in its class.

The Acura MDX, on the other hand, is powered by a V6 unit which is rated to produce 300 horsepower. This power output can be enhanced with the use of aftermarket parts such as the Acura cold air intake system.

According to Consumer Reports, the new Lincoln MKX received good ratings but cannot be recommended due to the fact that Consumer Reports lack data as to its reliability. The MKX finished at the bottom of its class by the brand itself made a big jump by becoming the third best brand in terms of quality during the first ninety days of ownership according to J.D Power and Associates.

Other notable entries to the class are the BMW X5 and the Cadillac SRX. Similar to the MKX, the Cadillac and the BMW luxury SUVs received outstanding scores in the tests conducted by Consumer Reports. Another similarity between the two SUVs and the MKX is that they are not also recommended by Consumer Reports due to lack of information concerning their reliability.

According to J.D Power and Associates though, the BMW brand is below the industry average in terms of problems per 100 vehicles. The study showed that for every 100 BMW vehicles, there are 133 problems encountered. The industry average this year is at 125 problems for every 100 vehicles. Cadillac is even worse than BMW since, according to the study, there were 135 problems encountered for every 100 Cadillac vehicles.

The class is being topped by the Toyota Highlander Hybrid because of its overall good performance and it costs considerably less than the Lexus and the Acura. According to Consumer Reports, the disparity between the Highlander Hybrid and the Lexus and Acura is about $5,000. Another vehicle priced lower than the Lexus and the Acura but has virtually the same ratings is the Honda Pilot EX-L. The RX350 and the MDX is estimated to be priced $10,000 more than the Honda Pilot EX-L. Consumer Reports also pointed out that for those who are looking for SUVs with good towing capacity, the Lexus GX470 is a good choice.

In order to open the door, he needs to time it perfectly… meaning unlock the door and open it really fast before the door locks back. Sometimes the driver side lock doesn’t unlock at all! How do you fix this without going to a mechanic?
