Joel Q asked:

how much money does it take for you to fill up your acura RSX type S. I am in the process of buying a car, but I have to choose between this car or the new for mustang. I don’t know which one would be the most fun and the right choice to make for the money.

Acura Relay Guaranteed to Last Long

June 24, 2008 By: admin Category: Automotive Comments Off

Evander Klum asked:

Acura is known for offering an exhilarating driving experience. Its vehicles are packed with technology, and costs thousands of dollars lesser than its European competitors. Quality Acura parts play a huge role in sustaining this excellent reputation. One example of these quality parts is the Acura relay.

Invented in 1835 by Joseph Henry, the relay is an electrical switch that opens and closes through another electrical circuit. It was, earlier, operated by an electromagnet to open or close one or more contact sets. Acting as an electrical amplifier for an Acura vehicle, the Acura relay controls an output circuit of higher power than the input circuit. A typical Acura relay works for several different applications. First, it controls high-voltage with a low-voltage signal and a high-current with a low-current circuit. Relays also conserve energy, perform logic and time-delay functions, and isolate the controlling circuit from the controlled one when the two are at different potentials.

Connector failure is the most common cause of Acura relay-related electronic failures. Such problem occurs when the current flow through the relay heats up the relay, which in turn, heats up the connector. As a result, the connector looses its grip from the relay and begins to overheat. Eventually, the plastic around the connector will melt, leading to the Acura relay’s failure.

One example of an Acura relay is the fuel pump relay. By principle, a hot relay is a bad relay. In the first place, drawing high amount of current should not result to a hot relay. A relay failure in this situation can be attributed to different factors such as a cold solder joint, bad crimp joint, and bad relay contacts. A burnt smell and an engine that fails to start are the usual symptoms of a faulty fuel pump relay. An Acura relay failure may either be fixable or non-fixable so it is highly recommended to have the relays checked regularly to avoid irreparable damage.

Frameworks: the Acura Transmission Mounts

June 18, 2008 By: admin Category: Automotive Comments Off

Evander Klum asked:

Machines are made up of complex structures that work in unison towards a common functionality. This is especially true with today’s automobiles. Modern cars are engineered with intricate parts and accessories that are specifically manufactured as supplemental parts of a much larger framework. Major vehicle systems contain a set of very important components – so essential that lack of them would deem the automobile useless.

Construction of quality parts have long been the priority of car manufacturers. Acura — the luxury car making division of Honda in the Unites States, Canada, Hong Kong and in many other countries — is perhaps the most notable among the leading car manufacturers for producing a remarkable array of car parts and accessories. Hailing from the Japanese tradition of ingenuity, Acura offers a different class far superior than usual automotive norm.

Acura’s vehicles, from major components down to the smallest engine details, manifest astounding display of engineering prowess in the form of specially engineered parts.. One such part is the Acura transmission mount. Plainly speaking, transmission mounts are basically devices that connect the various parts of an automobile to its chassis or framework, much like how a joint connects different bones of the human body. They allow these parts to rotate and help keep them in their proper alignments. They also dampen vibration and noise, giving comfortable riding experience to the car’s driver and passengers.

Swift movement is the main responsibility of the Acura transmission mount. In an effort to strike a balance between performance and comfort, Acura designed their transmission mounts to function in accordance to the specifications of the Acura chassis. The chassis and transmission mount form the skeletal system of the automobile. It is important to have the appropriate auxiliary parts to ensure automotive stability. Acura transmission mounts are a great example of these.up to this task.

Next Month, Acura Csx Goes On Sale

Stacey Wilson asked:

First off, what is the 2007 Acura CSX all about?

You can sure take a hint from Jim Miller, the executive vice president of Honda’s Canada arm. He does say, “The new Type S model will serve as a gateway product to Acura’s performance heritage for those Canadians who want both affordable luxury and high performance.”

So now you are asking, Honda? What does Honda have to do with the 2007 Acura CSX?

Well, in simple terms, let us just say that Honda is the mothership from where all those Acura vehicles come from. Honda is the company under which the Acura brand can be found.

Anyhow, you see, the newest version of the 2007 Acura CSX Type S would soon be gracing the dealerships and showrooms in Canada. No, those who live in the United States would still have to wait and see if the vehicle would be available in their market. This is primarily because Acura and Honda have chosen Canada as the single market where they would be launching and marketing this high performance luxury sedan. So to those who are in the United States, you would have to make do with all other Acura vehicles and spruce them up with your chosen Acura auto parts.

What has got the 2007 Acura CSX Type S got to offer? Well, there is the new two liter i-VTEC engine that can actually produce some 197 units of horsepower. If you want to count that in. And to this, Miller was recorded to say, “There was a time when the 100 horsepower per liter benchmark was an exclusive calling card of race car engines.” But at present, it looks like more and more vehicles are offering such kind of power in the most ordinary cars and vehicles in town.

So as to help the 2007 Acura CSX Type S get more and show off more in its performance, Acura has built the vehicle with a six speed manual transmission system which is close-ratio. Plus, the car also has got a speed sensitive electric power steering system that would give drivers that sporty driving effect and powerful control.

How much would it cost to repair a dent the size of a nickel on an Acura TL?

Phantom asked:

I have a 2006 Acura TL and the color is Anthracite Metallic which is a dark grey color. On the Front Right Quarter Panel, there is a dent which looks like it was shot with a bullet but the bullet didnt go through the metal. Its diameter is the size of a penny.
How much in general would it cost if I were to bring it to a bodyshop and have them repair it with that powder stuff like joint compound and spray it.
Has anyone repaired a dent that size before? How much did it cost you?

I have a 92 Acura Legend and I was wondering what is the best oil to use?

June 06, 2008 By: admin Category: acura 6 Comments →

Big Ross asked:

My 1992 Acura legend is my baby with 176,000 miles and I’m really trying to see what I can get out of it for performance. I’m working on putting in a new air intake and a new exhaust system but before that, I’m ready for an oil change…

My friend told me to switch over to synthetic oil to help clean out the engine and get it running better. He told me to change the oil with synthetic for like 3 oil changes then continue with a synthetic blend. I’m willing to pay the money for it but should I switch over to full synthetic? If not, what should I use for performance?

Thanks for your help! It’s really appreciated!
Well thanks for your answers…

Yes it is a 92 and yes it does have 176k miles on it but its an engine that will last another 100k to 150k if taken care of well. The body is still in good condition so why not fix it up? I’m not asking for a racing beast or anything, just something where I can punch it and it has a really good kick to it…

ALSO oil does make a huge difference in a car’s performance…

I’ll stick with 5w-30 mobile 1
