Where can I find out a 2002 acura TL has the upgraded transmission?

So as you might know, the 2002 acura TLs had transmission problems and the dealer offered an extended warranty on them. I’m about to buy a 2002 TL Type S and I want to know how I can find out if this one was fixed or not? Or were only certain VINs affected? If so, how can I find which ones?

And no I can’t just ask the owner because I’m buying it off an auction.
